Helpful Hints
  • If you have a speaker phone, it allows the entire family to share in the excitement of Santa’s call.
  • If you use a dial-up connection to the Internet, make sure no one logs on during the time Santa is scheduled to call.
  • Some children get a little tongue-tied when Santa calls, and it helps to prompt them to ask Santa things like “Do the reindeer ever get cold?” or “What is Mrs. Claus doing tonight?”
  • While some parents like to tell their child Santa Claus will be calling and prepare accordingly, others delight in the surprise and spontaneity of their child’s response.
  • Some telephones and tape recorders have the ability to tape phone conversations, and a recording of your child’s conversation with Santa can become a family keepsake.
  • It’s a good idea to schedule Santa’s call well in advance of bedtime, so your child has time to talk about the experience with you, or perhaps call friends and family members to share it with them.

How a Santa Call Works

Like many things in life, the key to a successful Santa Claus call is careful planning. To help ensure your child’s experience will be as vivid and as magical as possible, Santa 1-on-1 will work with you to weave specific details of your child’s life into the conversation.

When you fill out an order form and submit it, we begin crafting the guidelines for your specific call. Should we have questions about the information, such as pronunciation on certain names, we will simply contact you for clarification. (This is one reason we require at least 48 hours notice for each call.)

Then at an agreed upon time, Santa will dial the number you provide us, ask for your child by name, and gently engage him or her in a conversation about Christmas.

This conversation may last up to five minutes, depending upon how willing your child is to talk. For families with multiple believers, the length of the call will vary depending upon how many children participate.

As for when to call, that’s entirely up to you. Most parents prefer Christmas Eve calls. However, many schedule theirs for Christmas Day, while some others like to have Santa call during the exciting pre-Christmas hustle and bustle.

Whichever you decide, we promise to treat your child as an individual and approach his or her call like the only one we’ll make all season. At Santa 1-on-1 we understand that even though your child’s Santa call may only last a few minutes, with careful planning and a little heart, the memory can last a lifetime.
